Vortex Strategy & Recruitment is actively seeking a Business Lawyer with 8 to 10 years of experience on behalf of its client, a fast-growing law firm based in Laval.
By joining this rapidly expanding practice group, you will play a key role in the growth and consolidation of the team while actively contributing to the development of a sustainable client base for the firm. Depending on your level of experience and the transferable clientele you are able to bring, a partnership opportunity may be considered within your first year.
With this in mind, we are looking to recruit a lawyer who ideally possesses a transferable client base, as well as a junior associate interested in joining a dynamic and growing organization. While a transferable clientele is considered a strong asset, it is not essential for the position. Furthermore, if the candidate wishes to be accompanied by a junior associate with whom they already work, the firm would be pleased to welcome that individual as part of the team.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Advise clients on the implementation of complex corporate structures;
Participate in mergers and acquisitions transactions, whether asset-based or share-based;
Manage corporate arrangement, reorganization, and restructuring files;
Negotiate, draft, and review various commercial agreements;
Negotiate and implement shareholder and investor agreements;
Provide strategic advice to local and provincial businesses in connection with private financing transactions of all kinds (traditional debt, convertible debt, or equity investments);
Lead commercial real estate law files, including commercial lease negotiations, real estate transactions, and franchise matters;
Manage a portfolio of more than 450 corporations;
Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and clients;
Act as a leader at the head of this exponentially growing practice.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of experience in business law within a law firm environment;
Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar;
Ability to manage multiple files across various areas of business law;
Excellent drafting and information synthesis skills;
Fully bilingual (spoken and written French and English);
Demonstrated autonomy, confidence, rigor, dynamism, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
